Dr. Walter “Wally” Strash is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and Carleton University. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgeries. In 1991, Dr. Strash founded Alamo Family Foot and Ankle Care, P.A.
In addition to evaluating and treating patients, Dr. Strash is active in various clinical research projects with an interest in diabetic foot ulcers and pain management, a lecturer and consultant, an associate professor at the University of Texas San Antonio Health Science Center’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and serves on the board of the Specialty Surgery Center. Additionally, he has been published in numerous medical journals and books, including Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Foot and Ankle Quarterly, The Journal of Foot Surgery and Principles & Practice of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Strash is married with four children. He is an instrument-rated private pilot flying to Uvalde, Texas for patients, as well as other locations, providing medical and legal advice to patients and attorneys. When he’s not working, Dr. Strash enjoys water sports and Taekwondo, and spends most weekends with his family.
Dr. Sagray is Board Certified in foot and reconstructive rear foot/ankle surgery, bringing extensive expertise and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Dr. Sagray completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and earned his medical degree from Midwestern University – AZPOD. He honed his skills through a rigorous residency at INOVA/Georgetown University and further specialized through a fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
A member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, Dr. Sagray chose the field of podiatry after experiencing foot and ankle injuries himself. This personal connection to his specialty fuels his dedication to helping patients resume their beloved activities pain-free.
Raised in San Antonio, where he currently resides with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Harley, Dr. Sagray enjoys hunting, spending time at the ranch, traveling, hiking, and weightlifting in his free time. An interesting fact about him is that his initial interest in medicine and surgery was sparked by his passion for art, particularly anatomical drawing, which blends beautifully with his surgical precision.
Dr. Sagray looks forward to contributing to the well-being of the San Antonio community by providing excellent podiatric care!
Dr. Silas Espino is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where he studied anthropology and pre-medicine. Dr. Silas Espino attended and graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Silas Espino completed his residency in Miami, FL at Larkin Community Hospital. Dr. Silas Espino recently joined our team in August at Strash Foot and Ankle Care at our Sonterra location. Dr. Espino is originally from San Antonio, Texas and is eager to serve those in the South Texas region.
In addition, Dr. Espino is involved in continuing education for the foot and ankle and has attended numerous conferences and lectures for diabetic foot care, limb salvage, wound care. Dr. Espino is surgically trained for numerous pathologies of the lower extremity including neuromas, bunions, hammertoes, fractures, achilles injuries.
Dr. Espino is married and starting a family with a child due Nov. 2023. When he’s not working, Dr. Espino enjoys playing basketball, traveling and spending time with his family.
